Description
36" Standard Hearth Pad in Sandstone Comfortbilt pellet stove hearth pads are crafted from quality ceramics — expertly finished for maximum durability. Choose from a range of styles and enjoy the security of knowing your hearth pad meets all government safety standards. All traditional hearth pads are manufactured as Type 2 (Ember Protection and Thermal Protection) and are not available as a Type 1 (Ember Protection only). Some pellet stove and wood stove installations demand more from the floor beneath them. When a heat shield isn't part of the equation — or when you're working with an older stove or certain high-efficiency models — ember protection alone isn't enough. You need a hearth pad engineered to handle heat as well, and that means stepping up to a Type 2. This fully non-combustible Type 2 hearth pad is rated at an R-value of 2.24 or 1.592, forming a substantial thermal barrier between your stove and the subfloor below. While the minimum R-value requirement for Type 2 pads sits at just 1.0, this pad more than doubles that threshold — offering a level of performance that exceeds code requirements and gives you genuine peace of mind every time you fire up your stove. • 1" frame • 30% lighter than other hearth pads • Single ½" non-combustible substrate with significantly higher R-value than other substrates
FAQ
What size stove do I need?
As a rough guide, a home in a cold climate needs about 30–40 BTU per square foot. Compare that with the heating area and BTU rating published by the manufacturer, and allow for insulation and ceiling height.
Who installs the stove?
We sell and ship the equipment. Installation should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and local building codes; we recommend a certified installer, and some areas require a permit.
Do I need a chimney?
Wood stoves need a properly sized chimney or class A flue. Most pellet stoves vent through a wall with pellet pipe. Electric fireplaces need no venting.
How are stoves delivered?
Large stoves ship by freight truck, curbside. The carrier contacts you to schedule delivery. Orders leave within 1–3 business days after payment and arrive in 6–10 business days.
What is your return policy?
You can return unused items in their original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Return shipping is free; a 10% restocking fee applies unless the item arrived damaged or defective.
