Description
36" Standard Hearth Pad in Black Comfortbilt hearth pads are crafted from quality ceramics — expertly finished for maximum durability. Choose from a range of styles and enjoy the security of knowing your hearth pad meets all government safety standards. All traditional hearth pads are manufactured as Type 2 (Ember Protection and Thermal Protection) and are not available as a Type 1 (Ember Protection only). For some of today’s high-efficiency stoves, along with older stoves and stoves that do not use heat shields, the hearth pad may be required to provide thermal protection as well as ember protection. If this is the case with your stove, then the Type 2 hearth pad is the correct hearth pad for your application. Fully non-combustible with an R-value of 2.24 or 1.592, an American Panel hearth pad will block the heat from passing through to the subfloor. I t provides protection well above the minimum requirements for Type 2 hearth pads (minimum requirement of R-value=1.0). • 1" frame • 30% lighter than other hearth pads • Single ½" non-combustible substrate with significantly higher R-value than other substrates
FAQ
What size stove do I need?
As a rough guide, a home in a cold climate needs about 30–40 BTU per square foot. Compare that with the heating area and BTU rating published by the manufacturer, and allow for insulation and ceiling height.
Who installs the stove?
We sell and ship the equipment. Installation should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and local building codes; we recommend a certified installer, and some areas require a permit.
Do I need a chimney?
Wood stoves need a properly sized chimney or class A flue. Most pellet stoves vent through a wall with pellet pipe. Electric fireplaces need no venting.
How are stoves delivered?
Large stoves ship by freight truck, curbside. The carrier contacts you to schedule delivery. Orders leave within 1–3 business days after payment and arrive in 6–10 business days.
What is your return policy?
You can return unused items in their original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Return shipping is free; a 10% restocking fee applies unless the item arrived damaged or defective.
