Description
36" Standard Hearth Pad in Lunar Frost Comfortbilt pellet stove hearth pads are crafted from quality ceramics — expertly finished for maximum durability. Choose from a range of styles and enjoy the security of knowing your hearth pad meets all government safety standards. All traditional hearth pads are manufactured as Type 2 (Ember Protection and Thermal Protection) and are not available as a Type 1 (Ember Protection only). Not every pellet stove or wood stove installation is the same. Older units, certain high-efficiency models, and stoves operating without heat shields often require a hearth pad that does double duty — shielding your floor from both radiant heat and ember contact. If your stove falls into any of these categories, a Type 2 hearth pad is the solution your installation calls for. Fully non-combustible and built to perform, this hearth pad delivers an R-value of 2.24 or 1.592, creating a dependable thermal barrier that prevents heat from ever reaching your subfloor. Type 2 pads are required to meet a minimum R-value of 1.0 — this pad clears that benchmark by a significant margin, giving you a level of protection that goes well beyond what code demands. • 1" frame • 30% lighter than other hearth pads • Single ½" non-combustible substrate with significantly higher R-value than other substrates
FAQ
What size stove do I need?
As a rough guide, a home in a cold climate needs about 30–40 BTU per square foot. Compare that with the heating area and BTU rating published by the manufacturer, and allow for insulation and ceiling height.
Who installs the stove?
We sell and ship the equipment. Installation should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and local building codes; we recommend a certified installer, and some areas require a permit.
Do I need a chimney?
Wood stoves need a properly sized chimney or class A flue. Most pellet stoves vent through a wall with pellet pipe. Electric fireplaces need no venting.
How are stoves delivered?
Large stoves ship by freight truck, curbside. The carrier contacts you to schedule delivery. Orders leave within 1–3 business days after payment and arrive in 6–10 business days.
What is your return policy?
You can return unused items in their original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Return shipping is free; a 10% restocking fee applies unless the item arrived damaged or defective.
